This is a charming 18th century lodge on the estate of the Dyer family. It is perched high on the side of the valley with glorious views over the River Nore.

The house itself has three bedrooms, a kitchen dining room and a living area. Newly redecorated, it is exceptionally attractive, and offers great value.

The Gate Lodge

The Gate Lodge at Berryhill is on the right hand side of the main Berryhill avenue Gates. A single level property, the Lodge is bright and airy with large rooms. The interior consists of a hallway, leading to the left, into an arch into the kitchen, quarry tiled, which has large windows overlooking the River Nore and Woodstock, dish-washer, microwave, cooker and fully fitted, and a large open fireplace.Through the kitchen is a double bedroom carpeted,with two sash windows, also overlooking the River Nore, this bedroom is en-suite with shower loo and wash-basin. Also from the hallway is a utility area to the right with washing machine, large hotpress, off this is a bathroom with bath, loo and wash-basin, white tiled floor. Straight ahead of the front door is the sitting room is carpeted, with two windows on the right, and two sofa beds, stereo, lamps and tables, on the other side of the sitting room there are large patio doors to the left of the fireplace.

The cottage has a small garden, with a lawn, and patio. It also has a parking area.

The Gate Lodge accommodation:

1 double bed room en suite, with shower and loo, a large sitting room with two sofa beds, open fire place, another bathroom with bath.
The kitchen is fully fitted and also has an open fire.
Wonderful views of the River Nore.

The price for long-term rental is €700 per month (1 year minimum stay)
Summer weekly lets for June, July and August €450 per week

The family, who live on the property, farms 250 acres, each field having an even more stunning view than the last. Wondrous walks, private fishing and superb local restaurants within ¼ of a mile and an array of local craft shops are some of the added interests the house has to offer. Riding, Golf, Hunting, Canoeing and Hill Walking are all easily arranged for guests. Mount Juliet Champion Golf Course is barely 6 miles from Inistioge.

Sheep and lambs roam the fields, the cocks herald a new dawn and George and Belindas' six dogs assure you of an enthusiastic welcome! The fan tailed pigeons coo and flutter round the yard behind the house and in all, it is a wonderfully scenic and peaceful place to rest, visit, holiday or just get away.

Directions - Thomastown to Inistioge R700 through village cross bridge (bearing right), next left (signposted), next right, 2^nd on left.
